In today’s world, people hugely losing interest in social gatherings. Current trends show that people hugely valuing material goods over relationships, but this goes against our nature. Here we are going to have our discussion on this major problem of today’s life. Is this correct to lose social life, people, relationships? Is this good for our brain and its health.
Men are social animals, and anyone who cannot cope with everyday life or believes he is self-sufficient believes he does not need anyone. Therefore does not find the need to Partake of society. Just like human needs food and shelter for its living, there is also a basic need to belong to a group, community and generate relationships. From time to time we require people around us, to feel several emotions and to feel lively. Desires to be in a loving relationship, to be cheered up at sporting events, to avoid depressing rejections and losses, to communicate good news with family and friends, to fit in with classmates, to establish socialising on Facebook in order to be monitored, and many other things. These are the things and activities which motivate one’s personality and helps in managing several different feelings, actions, and thoughts.
The Brain’s primary purpose is social thinking!
The brain is the center of the social self. The human brain is built to think and accomplish tasks. Has anybody ever think why the human brain got to be so large? Generally, it has been found that brain size increases, according to body size. That is the why ant has a smaller brain and the elephant have the larger one. A study founds that humans are the greatest exception to this rule. Given the size of the human body, the size of the brain should be much smaller. But they are not so, its size is much larger as it should be. Theirs a complete reason for this happening. The outer layer of the human brain is specifically presented for the size of its social group. Only humans have big brains in order to socialize.
The human brain weighs only 2 percent of our body weight but consumes 20% energy while on active mode and thinking mode. Whenever the brain has a free moment, it automatically goes social. Do many people think why this happens? Rather than going on social it can just relax out and conserve its energy. Then what makes it think and feel? So, as for this, all are aware of the fact that the human brain never rests, not even while sleeping. It always functions as the human heart. So when it’s in the free state, it finds something to think, feel and perform. It comes to socialization, then because it is necessary, not just this, but it’s needful for one’s state of mind and life.
Do socialization enhance brain?
The biggest part of a study is that how human brains proceed the social rejections. To not be involved, not being talked, not being invited. The brain feels social pain a lot like physical pain. The more a person faces rejections, the more activities found in the part of their brain, which produces the distress of physical pain. Pain is a sign that something is not well, and if social separation feels like something is wrong, then it is very much clear here that the human brain needs socialization. Social pain signals that people are all alone, vulnerable and need to form new bonds and connections and even rebuild the previous ones, to avoid future threats that are out there. Likewise, various forms of this problem are present everywhere. When someone dies, people make new connections forget that pain. In humans, social pain can just be relieved through making attachments to the people around. Likewise, when a baby cries, he wants his mother to be around his eyes.
All such things only highlight the fact that to the relief brain from day-to-day small and big problems we need people around us. To share thoughts, to feel loved, to make decisions, and Likewise a lot. Furthermore, as simple as we can understand this in a sentence is ‘social connections make a better brain’. In older days, there were happier people than compared to now. And unfortunately, that fact behind this problem also belongs to the wellbeing of the brain only. People then liked to be a part of social gatherings. They make a lot more connections, they used to invite people, talk about several things, whether on problems or entertain each other. Their brains were healthy and breath effortless.
Helps out this situation in today’s life.
Social connections are as important as one’s survival and the need for safety, food, and shelter. In the last some years, as society is growing and becoming more prosperous, individuals, the social connections are dissolving. People are becoming more private, have a few friends with whom to share the details of one’s personal life. Day by day It’s becoming a culture to involve less and limit gatherings. This generation is denying their social nature and paying a prize for having it. Social isolation has resulted in lower levels of happiness, as well as an increase in the rates of depression and suicide. To provide one’s brain with Solitude is the same as being provided it the feel of pain. Being a part of a group, family, or batch is an aspect of a person’s identity by which they are called or identified.
It is really harmful, how people are increasingly sacrificing their personal relations for the hunting of wealth and money. In this era, being very well off financially is the major goal for the fresher but not starting a family or helping others. While away from this generation, some years ago the main goal of people was to start a family and help others not just being financially successful. This generation’s priorities have shifted tremendously. They do not need anyone around them rather than success and money. This is the main cause of today’s illness among the whole generation. People think earning money can buy happiness and everything for them. Unaware of the fact that the mind needs peace, which will only come from our people. They are the real money which one’s should earn in the complete life.
